Gear that you MUST bring with you: Helmet with chin strap, work clothes (long pants & long sleeve shirt, work shoes (boots, NO sneakers), leather gloves, eye protection
This program is designed to evaluate the student’s skills in cognitive and psychomotor exercises so that they will receive professional certification upon completion of the program. To enhance the students ability to perform critical skill sets to meet the intent of NFPA 1006 and 1670 Rope Rescue Technician in the field of technical rescue. During this class students will review rope rescue systems, application theories, and high angle challenges to accurately and safely execute the skill sets required for professional certification. Topics include: rescue incident management, technical vs. non-technical rescue considerations, rescue strategies and tactics, resource management, patient access and removal strategies and tactics, hazard identifications and control, specialized rescue equipment identification and applications, patient removal techniques and selection criteria, basic patient care, packaging, and removal, highline construction and operation, and applicable OSHA and NFPA laws and standards.
Please note there will be an additional 8 hour NFPA Certification date for testing July 30th.
