Instructor: Todd Stahl

Prerequisite: Water Rescue & Emergency Response

The course teaches direct-contact rescue techniques and complex rope systems. Because these methods expose personnel to life-threatening hazards, they should only be used as a last resort when lower-risk options are exhausted. The program combines classroom work with practical, hands-on sessions in pools and outdoor environments. Subjects include knot tying, rope anchor techniques, movable control points, mechanical advantage, tension diagonals (zip lines), and swift water vest rescues. Personnel are trained to select, operate, execute, and tear down the appropriate rescue systems.
