During this course\, students will review scene safety and size up strategies\, apply the phases of extrication\, vehicle extrication principles and theories\, stabilization and extrication techniques\, basic patient care and packaging techniques\, and managing incident challenges to accurately and safely execute the skill sets required for safe and effective patient extrication. Topics include size-up\, scene management\, hazard identification and control\, stabilization\, gaining access\, tool selection and operation\, patient packaging and extrication\, and termination in accordance with NFPA 1006 and 1670. This course is designed for students with a working knowledge of emergency response.
